Born and raised in the shadow of the Montana Rockies, Gary Sohl early on
developed a love for art. After graduating from Montana State University with a degree in Advertising Design he began a long career in outdoor electrical advertising, which eventually led him to southern California. He served as a senior designer and art director for some of the nation's largest firms in that field.
Gary's first love, however, was always fine art, in particular, painting. After an early retirement he began entering shows and competitions throughout southern California, winning many first place and best-of-show awards.
His bold, distinctive, impasto landscapes
adorn many private collections throughout
the United States.
